20th We have just started a major project with a leading Coffee Bar chain. The project is the development of a browser-based Sales Order Entry system. This will be accessible from over 500 of its coffee bars and will allow the placing of orders directly with the food manufacturer. The application is being written in a combination of HTML and PHP using MySQL 5 as a backend database. The web server used is Apache 1.3. This is a great boost to our company and workforce as this demonstrates that we have the skills and professionalism required to produce high quality web sites and browser-based applications. |
8th The About Us pages have now been updated and there are now links to the detailed background information on all of the members of our team. This new feature shows our vast experience within the areas of IT Support and Web Design. |
20th The Sales Order System was been demonstrated earlier this month to the High Street Coffee Bar Chain and was warmly received. Present at the demonstration were senior staff from the UK, Holland and USA and all made very favourable comments about the design and functionality. The master data has been uploaded to the application and User Acceptance Testing will proceed over the next 4 weeks. |
18th User Acceptance Testing has now been completed and the modifications from the results are well underway. Overall the testing went well with some minor tweaks needed prior to Store Trials which have been programmed to start Week Commencing 18th September 2006 |
26th The Store Trials are underway with 16 stores in Greater London. So far the Store Managers seem to have taken the project on board and the project appears to have their support. The first couple of orders have been raised and have been delivered successfully.
30th Feedback seems to be good with reports of minor discrepancies in the product sort order. These were found to be due to be data input errors by the food supplier. |
19th Most of the glitches now appear to be ironed out and all the trial stores are placing orders daily without error. The coffee bar company has now requested that we gradually bring on board the remaining stores with the aim to have 100% of stores online by 20th November 2006. The Operations Team of the coffee bar company have reported that the Store Managers are "finding the application very easy to use and it frees up a considerable amount of their time".
30th The coffee bar company has now requested that an additional 30 stores now start to use the application. These are to include 13 airports and 15 stores within the Thames Valley region. Confidence is high and the request is that these stores are to go immediately live with no trial or parallel running with their manual order system. The first live order for these stores will be placed on the 1st November 2006 for delivery on 3rd November 2006 |
1st The next 30 stores are now live and there have been no reported issues. The Coffee Bar company has now announced a full go live on the 1st December. |
1st FINAL GO LIVE: The remaining stores are now live totalling 512 stores using the application. Only 30 Stores needed a nudge to remember to place their orders prior to the autoprocessing deadline and in the end only 6 failed to do so. We are monitoring the order process during the first week to ensure that there are no problems that may have been missed with the smaller trial
2nd Another successfull day. The order process was completed successfully for all stores. |
